It transcends … Read more This fabulous double U shaped abstract sculpture by the noted artist and sculptor Mary Preminger is so modernist. It transcends time. It is chrome on a black marble base. It was executed in 1968. It is unsigned though but definitely her work.It is believed to be reminiscent of the noted English sculptor Donald Wells. Mary Preminger was an internationally known and respected sculptor whose exhibitions were in the Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum to name a few. The elements of this sculpture are predictions of shifting forms in space and time. Mary Preminger was the second wife of the renowned movie director Otto Preminger. This is a very desirable and fantastic sculpture to collect.
Good condition. There are signs of aging on the chrome and spots on the chrome that when polished cannot come clean. As is; commensurate with age. It has some weight to it.
