The architecturally shaped piece of furniture … Read more Monumental Biedermeier Secretaire, of Danish manufacture from the first half of the century. XIX. The architecturally shaped piece of furniture is composed of a tripartite upper body with a central door, supported by and divisible from the lower body, which is wider and rectangular in shape with rounded front stands.
Below is a narrow in-line hinged drawer, followed by a folding door concealing a rich cabinet with threaded and inlaid drawers on the base with a door centered by classical mythological figures within an arch.
The three lower hinged drawers of different sizes form a base with sections that simulate a bulwark, ending on the floor on plinth feet that follow the shape of the base perimeter.
Externally in the upper portion of the folding door there is a classic bronze frieze with griffins with flowered spiral tails, furthermore there are Empire style escutcheons and keys for each furniture lock with welded brass handle which complete the metal parts of the decoration of the secretaire.
Rare piece of furniture, of effective and historical importance and constructive executive mastery, a true timeless classic. See less
