Gorgeous Art Nouveau Secessionist copper metal pitcher with a hinged lid made in the early 1900's by the Gebruder Bing company of Nuremburg, Germany.
This authentic art metal pitcher has a copper body and rounded lid with a brass handle and accents. The craftsmanship is excellent, from the sinewy curves of the floral design embossed in relief on both sides of the pitcher, to bold brass looped handle. The lid is hinged and easily raises up by the attached thumb handle. The underside is marked "GBN" within a diamond, dating this from 1902 through 1907.
It stands 14" tall by 7" across by 4.5" wide, and weighs 1.5 lbs.
The Gebruder Bing company of Nuremburg (GBN) began in 1863 making fine pewter and copper kitchenware, and were most famous for manufacturing toys after the 1880's. Get this GBN pitcher for your kitchen or Art Nouveau/Secessionist/Jugendstil collection.
