The reverse design on each lamp makes quite the statement on either side of a nightstand or buffet. At night, they cast a beautiful subtle light... not for reading tho. The opening at the top of the lamp/glass is 6.5: Wide. There is a slight variation of .5 inch beach each lamp height, because they are hand blown. They sit on a white metal round base with a gold cord. They have the original European socket which can be changed. See less
