Pierre Ernest Ballue
French, 1855–1928
Balluet was a pupil of Vallee, Defaux and Damenzon. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artists Français between 1875 and 1928. His paintings often feature landscapes of the countryside around Fontainebleau. He exhibited regularly at the Salon of French artists and receives several medals there. Landscape painter from Touraine , he also traveled through France and painted views of the Midi and the Côte d'Azur, the Crozant region and Fresselines. He traveled to the United States with Auguste Bartholdi in 1886 for the inauguration of the latter's Statue of Liberty.
