About Khotan Rugs
Antique Khotan rugs are exquisite handwoven textiles originating from the ancient city of Khotan, located along the Silk Road in what is now the Xinjiang region of China. These rugs are renowned for their unique blend of Chinese, Persian, and Central Asian design elements, reflecting the cultural diversity of the region. Characterized by their soft, luminous colors, intricate geometric patterns, and often featuring distinctive motifs such as pomegranates, vases, or medallions, Khotan rugs are prized for their craftsmanship and historical significance. They are sought after by collectors and interior designers for their timeless beauty and ability to complement a variety of decor styles.
