Beautiful, one-of-a-kind antique doll manufacturing die, c. 1920. This heavy, ceramic or earthenware doll form is professionally mounted on a black wooden base. Purchased at a fine New Orleans antique shop in the 1980s. The owner said it was part of a cache of doll-making dies and accessories unearthed from the grounds of a shuttered toy factory in Mexico. Charming from every angle. Gorgeous, honest and "all natural" patina.Even lovelier in person.
Figure without stand measures 10" x 4" x 4".
