On the Design:

A play of grisailles black, midnight blue, and gray tones underscores a subtle series of stripes and muted geometric patterns. Keen eyes will admire punctuations of rich brown, as well as a play of high-and-low texture from the lush, high-pile field to the flatweave borders. Admirers of the craft will particularly appreciate how the textural, shag beauty of a Berber primitivist weave is brought into this large scale, with a more modern sense of color and these unexpected, moody hues. These speak to the soul of this collection, which is a contribution of current capabilities to a time-honored weaving tradition that still enjoys the beautiful authenticities of the provenance.
