Pretty alabaster bust of an elegant woman with a hat and a ribbon in her hair; the base is decorated with flowers/leaves
This bust is signed on the back Ant Nelson: this is the pseudonym used by the Belgian sculptor Antoine Van Den Kerckhove (1849-1910)
Coming from a family of sculptors, he began his sculpting activity in 1880; he is mainly known for his sculptures of busts, people and monuments
He stayed in London, then worked in Paris from 1890 to 1910.
