Albert Charpentier was born on December 18, 1878 in Paris. A pupil of Jean-Léon Gérôme, Fernand Cormon and Marcel Baschet, he is a genre and portrait painter, member of the Society of French Artists (1899). He obtained an honorable mention in 1904, a third medal in 1905 and a travel grant the same year. Albert Charpentier won a 2nd class medal at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1910. Several works made it disappear in 1916 during the First World War. He actually died in Geneva, Switzerland in 1951. Work on canvas This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
