Firstly, the top is a single board about 1.5 inches thick made of solid walnut; by itself it weighs as much as I do after Christmas dinner at my nonna. The top is gorgeous, with beautiful marks made by time and usage, and has a gorgeous patina accumulated over the years. The apron is decorated on all sides by geometric carvings, found also on the drawers fronts. The table features two inset drawers with beautiful and large hand-made dovetail joints, secures with square nails (this is what makes me think it is an italian table). See less
