This ashtray was made by Arabia, Made in Finland for use by Swedish American Liner. SAL, whose House Flag consisted of three gold crowns, was founded in 1914 as a passenger liner and continued to operate until its last ship was sold in 1986. This exemplar is in excellent condition. Its wells measure 0.75" across, its mouth opening is 2.5" and it stands 2.5" ta;;. All 3 wells are gilded with gold leaf and the Honor Flag appeals on all three sides over the initials "SAL". The blazing bone white body is elegantly decorated with the gold leaf covered well and Honor flags of the Swedish American Liner.
