Created in 2020. From the Quercus Collection.
Inspired by Nature and the Human form, a chopped limb from a Texas Live Oak tree becomes a very sensual, mysterious object with the Ancient Japanese technique of Yakisugi, or Shou-sugi-ban, the repeated, deep charring of the wood under high flame. Layers of wood are removed to reveal what was always present.
Measures 36" x 22" x 15". Ideal for table-top display. Can be moved into multiple configurations.
