An original antique pitcher believed to be made at the end of 19th Century in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
This piece is made of stoneware with a dark somewhat moody glaze. The jug has a wide, low-set handle, allowing the piece to be easily handled and feel well-balanced. The top rim is shaped into a smaller funnel spout, which allows more precise pouring. The main body shape is a reminiscence of a barrel.
On its surface, there is a subtle decor in form of little brown blobs spread randomly around the whole piece. There is a brown glaze around the bottom part and inside the jug. The brown colour around the bottom lifts the whole visually piece and also makes it look lighter.
This piece is in great vintage condition without any damage, cracks or chips. There is only some small wear inside the vase made from using the piece over the years.
