This is a very … Read more Impressive abstract modern iron sculpture made by Piero Ruggeri in his own atelier in Italy, 1970s. This is a very typical work by Ruggeri but he usually made paintings, sculptures from his hand ard extremely rare as he only made a few of them. This stunning shaped sculpture is made of solid iron pens, welded together. As you can imagine this sculpture has some weight being made of solid steel pens. They have a grey painted finish, and the base is made of wood which is a nice detail and looks a bit like its standing on a little pedestal. The sculpture has a silver-grey finish which makes the sculpture look whole. The welding is obviously visible and part of the sculptures character. It is in very good condition and looks highly decorative. Due to its impressive size but not being too deep, this is perfectly suited to put on a sideboard for display. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
