the belgian artist stanislas warnie excelled especially as a watercolorist, which is impressively demonstrated by this painting of a summer forest landscape. On an imaginary walk, we pause at a stream surrounded by beech trees and listen to the gentle sound of the water, while the path leading up to the left draws our gaze into the diffuse depths of the forest.
the whole scene exudes the atmosphere of a forest bathed in summer light. The dark, moss-covered trunks of the beech trees gleam silvery in the sunlight, which refracts on the water of the trickling stream, creating a blurred reflection. The leaves, created with virtuoso color adjustments, range from very dark to light green, giving the forest a lively vibrato of vegetal vitality. The green seems to glow mysteriously and magically from within. As we look at it, we are absorbed by the atmosphere of the forest and become increasingly present in the image ourselves.

der belgische künstler stanislas warnie tat sich insbesondere als aquarellist hervor, was das bild einer sommerlichen waldlandschaft eindrucksvoll vor augen führt. Auf einer imaginierten wanderung halten wir an einem von buchen umstandenen bachlauf inne und hören auf das sanfte plätschern des wassers, während der nach links oben weiterführende weg den blick in die diffuse tiefe des waldes hineinführt.
die ganze szenerie verströmt die stimmung des sommerlich durchlichteten waldes. Die von dunklem moos bewachsenen stämme der buchen glänzen silbrig im sonnenlicht, das sich auf dem wasser des dahinrinnenden baches bricht und eine verschwommene spieglung erzeugt. Die mit virtuosen farbsetzungen geschaffenen blätter reichen von ganz dunklem bis zu hellem grün, was dem wald ein lebendiges vibrato an vegetabiler lebensfülle verleiht. Dabei scheint das grün auf geheimnisvoll-magische weise aus sich selbst heraus zu leuchten. Beim betrachten werden wir von der waldstimmung absorbiert und selbst zusehends im bild präsent. See less
