Original low stool or 'tabouret' in French, known as the Berger Stool. Designed by Charlotte Perriand. She has always been a big fan of mountain life, the design is inspired by traditional furniture and typical materials found in the Alps.
Handcrafted in ash by Steph Simon in the 1950s or 1960s using traditional woodworking techniques. Typical are the tapered legs and the beautiful joinery details. The typical connection, used to turning the wood seat, is found underneath.
Great patina to the wood, nicely aged in a dark honey colour. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
