Cobalt blue inlaid with clear glass with two solid green rods on the side. Similar to the small Tina Aufiero Alboino vase made in the same decade by Venini. with 4 rods instead of two. Giant size, large enough to be an ice bucket. Signed Marcello Furlan 96. Lip was a company created in the 1980s by young designer Marcello Furlan and Maestro Giuliano Tosi. Together they created several pieces that picked up on the Memphis Group's trend. I got to know them well and they were like the odd couple from Murano. Giuliano, a great Murano master who speaks in Venetian dialect, and Marcello, a promising young designer. They were an emblem of 1980s style and a very promising design company, but unfortunately the company did not change and adapt to the new styles of the following decades. Now Lip's creations are glass pieces sought after by collectors for their rarity and uniqueness. See less
