Black and white Print by Erich Andres, ca 1960. The image captures an iconic view of the New York City skyline in the 1960s, presented in black and white, taken from an elevated road or bridge. In the foreground, the dark silhouette of the bridge is visible, while in the background, the distinctive skyscrapers of Manhattan rise, including buildings in the Art Deco style. The composition emphasizes the architectural density and vertical growth of the city during this period. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951. The print is new, a Fine Art Print on high quality paper (Hahnemühle) made by Whitewall.
