An exceptional silk Turkish rug, handwoven in Hereke (about 60 kms south-east from Istanbul) circa 1980 with an all over Tree of Life design on a soft beige field and fabulous secondary colours of red, green and gold. Very finely woven with 10x10 knots per cm woven on a silk foundation. Interestingly, this rug has been woven ‘upside down’!
Size: 1.27m x 0.76m (4ft 2in x 2ft 6in)
This rug is in excellent original condition with minimal wear. The fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
