Georgian style Chocolate / Tea table or vitrine cabinet, circa last quarter 20th century. Features an oval frame and tray top over a lower two sided showcase with beveled glass. The table can be opened from each side and is accented by beaded aprons, foliate accents and contoured legs.
The term chocolate table and tea table are interchangeable. Cabinets were used to store tea or hot chocolate and related serving items, such as cups, saucers, and small plates for cakes. The tables are sometimes also referred to as Dumbwaiter Cabinets or tables.
