In 1928 Wilhelm Kienzle designed the "Safari" chair, a visually stunning and iconic piece. The present example was made during the late 20th century, probably around the 1980s. Crafted in a stained hardwood with a sling seat made of rawhide leather, the chair showcases a beautiful dark silky patina throughout, the product from years of handling, the natural oils from skin and being actively enjoyed. The clever design allows it to entirely be broken down for easy flat-pack transport. But perhaps most importantly, it offers a surprising level of comfort and support and is truly a go-to chair for relaxing.

Leather presents with heavy staining and discolorations from use over time, overall comfortable and most enjoyable; light wear to the hardwood surfaces throughout; rubbing and wear to the leather inside the back where the wing nuts attach; belting between the legs somewhat brittle with some cracking and dryness.
