A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Thirtieth Station: Maisaka. In the title block: "The characteristic landscape of Amagiri", the name of the mouth of Lake Hamana that was formed at the end of the 20th century. Since then, travelers have been forced to take the ferry. On the right, Lake Hamana and the summit of Mount Fuji. In the foreground, sails made of woven straw.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXXI.
Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
