Trunk … Read more Antique Eau Claire Trunk Company Large Wood, Leather, and Gilded Iron Steamer Trunk on Castors With Internal Removable Tray. Trunk is in excellent condition with no tears, cuts, penetrations to outside layer but wear and imperfections to exterior surface and iron plates consistent with its age and use. But still in usable condition. Very tough and roughed exterior shell. I know there is wood underneath but I’m not sure what the exterior most material is, I believe it’s leather. I know it resembles leather, you can see from the warping on the back of the trunk it is flexible but still very solid. It’s all held together with iron straps, hinges, and protective plates on all corners and sides. Trunk opens, closes latches as it should. Large internal compartment with removable divided tray at the top. Tray has a pin on the side and sits in a bracket at the top of trunk at an angle. Truck is very solid and sturdy with plenty of life left in it. One of the leather side handle straps is broken (not pictured) but a full replacement set with additions is included.
