Gilded Frame. Wooden frame with gesso-decorated edges.
Oil on Panel.
Framed in original gilded Frame. Elaborate wood and gesso frame. Nicely decorated to offset the simplicity of the portrait.
Provenance: Victoria Edge Johnson, direct descendant of Jan Elten (Eltinge) of Ulster County N.Y.. Jan Elten, born in Holland, province of Drenthe July 29, 1632, signed the treaty made by the Paltz Huguenots and the American Indians in the spring of 1677 (History of New Paltz (1909); Ralph LeFevre (1844-1925), New Paltz N.Y..
