An emotive and serene mid-century modernist figurative composition, executed in oil on board, and dated 1983 on reverse.

The painting captures a poignant moment of maternal love as it feature a female figure cradling a baby.

As the figure in a blue dress and with blue hair is seated on a blue chair, blending into the cobalt blue backdrop, the artist has thoughtfully chosen a monochrome blue theme – symbolising calmness and serenity.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary silver painted frame with a wide inner linen border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some general scuffing but this is in keeping with its vintage quality.
