The trained cabinetmaker Jakob Volk (1876-1954) was a self-taught photographer. In the early years of the 20th century, he built his own plate camera and traveled through the Moselle region and the city of Cologne with it. Incomparable photographs of the Rhineland, its architecture, its landscape and its people - some of them even in color from the 1930s - round off this wonderful, unique collection. This print was created in 1933, mounting on cardboard. The size of the cardboard is 16,6 x 23 cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
