An elegant Danish minimalist coffee table designed by the renowned architectural duo Knud Friis & Elmar Moltke Nielsen, whose work is celebrated for its Nordic, soft, and organic interpretation of Brutalist architecture.

The table exemplifies the same values in furniture form, combining architectural clarity with material warmth. Executed in solid Oregon pine, it features a striking and expressive grain pattern and a substantial 6 cm thick tabletop, resting on a well-balanced and understated base that complements the mass of the top. The proportions and restrained detailing place the piece firmly within the Scandinavian tradition of soft and minimalist Brutalism.

Due to its material honesty and sculptural simplicity, the table has previously been attributed to Rainer Daumiller, whose work shares a related design language. The present example is attributed to Knud Friis & Elmar Moltke Nielsen.

The pine has developed a warm golden patina, enhancing the natural character of the wood. The table has been lightly refinished and given a new application of oil, and is presented in good vintage condition.

A strong and refined example of Danish 1970s design, suitable for both serious Scandinavian design collections and sophisticated contemporary interiors.
