Antique Chinese Apothecary Medicine Cabinet with 24 small drawers over 3 larger drawers. The small drawers are separated into 3 compartments and each drawer has a Chinese medicinal label. Probably from Shanxi Province in North Central China.
This Chinese apothecary cabinet, or medicine chest, dates to the Qing Dynasty period (1644-1912). These multi-drawer cabinets were traditionally used by Chinese herbalists and doctors to store medicinal herbs, minerals, and other healing ingredients, with each drawer designated for specific remedies.
