Sowing Season is a midsized piece in a series that I completed in 2018-2019. I had discovered that colors I had already on my palette for another piece really looked nice in an abstract style in a composition representing the end of the winter and that mad dash to get seeds in the ground before the spring rains come.
This is one of my favorite pieces and I don't plan to part with the original. It brings me too much joy. But I wanted to share it with others. It's really a striking piece that would be well placed in any room. The colors are at once soft and bold and the brushwork, quite loose. I've tried many times to recreate the light but heavily textured that makes this piece a keeper. But never quite get it as right as I did with Sowing Season.
