Mid Century Designer Art Deco Vintage Bar Drinks Liquor Liquer Cabinet made for Czech Company Up Zavody.
This Czechoslovakia bar is made of walnut and measures 26" wide, 16" deep and 31" high and has a cabinet with black handled doors and a door above that cantilevers down to provide a level surface to mix drinks with storage behind. The grain of the wood is stunning and is "bookmatched" on the front doors. The sides of the cabinet are curved as well at the top of the top door.
There is some evidence of restoration over time that does not detract from the original design and some slight veneer wear to the top that is noted in the photos and video. In great condition and a stunning piece to add your home bar.
Up Zavody furniture offered distinctive items, often of wood, designed with extraordinary care. Most were in the Art Deco period 1930's - 1950's designed by Jaroslav Smidek, Miroslav Navratil, Jindrich Halabala and Tatra Pravenec. I have provided some images of other examples of their work.
