Probably produced in … Read more A splendid midcentury coffee table equipped with magazine rack and handcrafted with natural fibers by skilled craftsmen. Probably produced in Italy between the 1950s and 1960s, this coffee table is handmade. The thin rattan reeds of the top are fixed to the structure by bindings that almost become a decorative element, but its particularity is in the curvature of the bamboo and rattan reeds that form the magazine rack. Folded like a hammock, the thick bamboo canes are decorated with burns that highlight the bamboo veins and wrapped in thin rattan canes tied together with small "X" knots. This coffee table has been completely restored by a professional who has applied shellac to hydrate and protect the surface. See less
