These are mixed media reworked luxury magazine advertisements providing a humorous commentary on our contemporary consumerist culture. These ad reinterpretations offer a comic look at our consumer culture in this social media fueled mass consumerist era. His freestyle stream of consciousness pieces are a window into the creative mind of a contemporary Brooklyn artist straddling the worlds of Hasidic Jewish life within the greater setting of a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. Influenced by an array of art and artists as diverse as vintage comics and cartoons, Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring to Ben Katchor and Saul Steinberg as well as others, it calls to mind the Outsider, Art Brut of Jean Dubuffet. His seemingly simple lines and use of color belie a sharp wit and biting humor. Pop Art Judaica for the New Millennium has arrived in a unique and iconic oeuvre. See less
