He is the grandfather of the painter François Cacheux.

Armand Cacheux made paintings, wood engravings and advertising and fashion drawings, also illustration, posters and bookplates.

After studying at the Geneva School of Fine Arts (student of Barthélemy Menn and Hugues Bovy) and at the Geneva School of Industrial Arts, he stayed in Paris from 1890 to 1902.
In 1903, he married Catherine Florentine Lucienne Chasteau (1872-1942), journalist, art critic and writer who published under the pseudonym Lucienne Florentin between 1909 and 1941 for the daily "La Suisse à Genève".

He made trips to Germany, England and Italy. He paints portraits, nudes, genre scenes and landscapes.
