This 1950s coat hanger, designed by Eugenia Alberti Reggio, has a simple but functional structure. It is made up of a grid of horizontal wooden slats on which the practical black painted metal coat hangers can be moved, slid, unhooked and rehooked. Four vertical wooden panels act as doors that open with a book system and are equipped with two large brass handles. This piece won the third prize ex aequo at the "La Rinascente Compasso d'Oro" competition in 1955. It is in original condition and therefore requires some small restoration work to accommodate some chips in the external veneer, as well as polishing. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
