A fine & large antique French Art Deco Bronze leaping stag sculpture/statue, by Georges H. Laurent (1880-1940), circa 1925.
Georges H. Laurent was known for his animal subjects and this bronze is a striking example of his finest work, the bronze depicts a stag in mid leap and mounted on a black marble plinth. The bronze is signed by the artist "G. H. Laurent" on the rear right leg and is also stamped "bronze", the bronze has a wonderful mellow patina, this is the largest of three such sculptures that the artist produced.
A wonderful bronze figure quintessentially of the age of jazz and the Art Deco period. Condition is very good.
