This cabinet has a simple design but is beautifully painted in a reddish-brown color with religious and floral decorations in the panels. The original paint is heavily worn which gives it a very characteristic appearance. This specimen is still in good condition for its age although there are sporadic traces of old woodworm, which have obviously been treated. Furthermore, the cabinet shows many old reparties that are to be expected for a piece of furniture of this age. For example, some decorative strips and the front legs have been replaced. The cabinet still has the original layout on the inside, with two shelves on the left and only coat hooks on the right. It is of course very easy to create shelves here. It used to be customary to give wedding furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was afterwards placed on the farm in a showroom that was only rarely used for high visits or special occasions. So a beautiful and decorative piece of history. All our bridal cabinets have been checked and if necessary restored, although the characteristic appearance of these specimens has been preserved. This specimen is from southeast Germany. 172cm high, 143cm wide, 56cm deep. See less
