* Albitz studied at the School of Applied Arts in Berlin and attended a studio. He was a member of various artistic cooperatives and associations. He participated in many exhibitions and was awarded medals and prizes, such as the Golden State Medal of Vienna.

* The motif depicts an impressionistic scene rendered in impasto. In front of the city gate, a stagecoach is seen delivering the Christmas mail to the city. The city is surrounded by snow, which has accumulated on the rooftops.
