* by the artist Richard Albitz (1876 - 1954)

* Albitz studied at the Berlin School of Arts and Crafts and attended a studio. He was a member of various artistic cooperatives and associations. He took part in many exhibitions and was awarded medals and prizes, such as the gold state medal of Vienna.

* The motif shows an impressionistic scene in impasto application of paint. In front of the city gate is the stagecoach carrying the Christmas mail to the city. The town is surrounded by snow, which gathers on the peaks of the roofs.
