Mid-Century Modern Set of Signed Original Fixed Base Tulip Chairs by Eero Saarinen - Made in 1950's for Knoll
Pair of Fabulous Signed Tulip Chairs Designed by Eero Saarinen for the Knoll Company of New York City in the Mid 1950's. This set includes two tulip chairs that have a fixed base (they do not swivel).
Saarinen and Knoll originally called the chair design the "Pedestal Group" but then later changed the name to "Tulip Chair" to reflect the inspiration for the chair which was taken from nature. Eero Saarinen is considered one of the most influential architects and designers of the mid 20th Century. HIs architectural designs redefined the landscape of modern America, and his innovative approach to form, materials, and space continues to provoke and inspire architects and designers today.
