Known for tranquil scenes in country settings, mostly American. Titled on reverse and the location is Ronda, Spain. A pupil of Henry Pember Smith, he exhibited widely as a member of the Society of Independent artists, the Allied Arts of America, and the National Academy of Design where he exhibited in 1898. This luminous painting is signed in the lower left and in its original frame. Both the painting and the frame are in excellent condition, the frame having wear along the edges. The provenance is Findlay Galleries of Chicago(see label on reverse). Measures 24” x 36” unframed and 30.5” x 42” framed. See less
