This is a large early 20th century hand colored print titled Sir Richard Sutton and the Quorn Hounds. It was engraved by Frederick Bromley from a painting by Francis Grant (Scottish, 1803-1878) and published by Henry Graves and Company. It is framed and approximately 40.5 x 28 inches overall. The print, including margins, is 38.5 x 26 inches.
Sir Richard Sutton was Master of the Quorn Hounds from 1847 until his sudden death in 1856 at his London home. Two of his sons (included in the print) took over the hunt until another master was elected. This print is based on a painting commissioned by Sir Richard Sutton for his personal use. Condition is good. It appears to have been in this frame for many years. Note: There is glare in the photographs due to the print still being in its original frame and under its original glass.
This framed print is very heavy.
