Super rare cash sale only sign in cyrillic, 40s bulgarian framed glass store indication, funny modern rule for shop, bar, hotel or service large 81/24/2 cm glass, wooden framed plaque in bulgarian. It can be dated from before 1945, when the rule to write in this characteristic grammatical style was still valid. Surely sale only in cash in those times meant no payment in kind - eggs, fruit, vegetables, meat, or being entered into a list of debtors. Therefore, it can be a joke to customers in shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and all kinds of services nowadays, when nobody pays in cash, but not in goods, of course! the sign is authentic, old, with peeling paint from the frame and rubbed varnish in several places of the letters. But absolutely readable and understandable for all speakers of slavic languages this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
