Vintage Widdicomb side tables-a pair. Sable brown stain over carved cherry wood with gorgeous potoro marble inset-black with gold and white calcite veining. The matte-finish lends the gold to a caramel color.
The strong gold/caramel color with the river like design and mid-century date suggest origins as italian marble from northern Italy. Portoro marble is considered a luxury artistic marble dating back to Roman times.
Each marble slab in a matte/honed finish measures 20.75” square x 7/8” thick with a weight of 37.63 lbs.
