A pinewood wall lamp, model v327, designed by hans-agne jakobsson for elyssett in the swedish town of markaryd. It is produced from pine veneer with a wooden wall mount and a standard e27 lamp holder. Since the veneer is semi-translucent, the lamp casts a warm and cozy light. Swedish industrial designer hans-agne jakobsson, born on the island of gotland in 1919, began his career as a carpenter's apprentice in his teenage years. Following his pursuit of architecture studies, he joined general motors as a designer. In 1951, he established hans-agne jakobsson ab in the quaint community of markaryd. The factory is most renowned today for its mid-century lighting fixtures, though it also produced small furniture and various other interior design objects. The two ashtrays available for sale serve as remarkable examples of jakobsson's talent in merging craftsmanship and industrial production to craft minimalistic and timeless objects.
