This box looks like an iron submarine trunk, excepted this one is a jewel and treasury box made of dark brown waxed velvet studded on wood that acquired an extraordinary age patina making the piece look like totally made of iron.
The inside is lacquered in maroon.
The original lock and key are working perfectly.
Excellent antique condition.
