Fantastic scene of one of the first human attempts at flight, using a hot air balloon in Dijon France on the 25th of April 1784. The original engraving of this scene was titled Guyton de Morveau et l'aerostat de Dijon, (Experience du 25 avril 1784). This vintage piece is aged with thick cracking paint and sepia tones. There is also some chipping in the paint, shown in the photos. It is painted on canvas on board. Signed by the artist in the bottom right corner.
