The souvenir programme for Coco, the 1969 Broadway musical based on the post-war life of Coco Chanel. The show was produced by Frederick Brisson, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by André Previn and set and costumes by Cecil Beaton. Katherine Hepburn starred as Chanel. The programme includes photographs of the production, showing Beaton's faithful reproductions of the Rue Cambon staircase and the Chanel outfits. Images and bios of the cast and crew are given, as well as a chronological list of Hepburn's plays and films, and 'her capsule comments on each - 'Roasted by all… Bottom of the heap in two and a half hours'. Beaton's sketch of Hepburn as Chanel graces the front and back covers. See less
