For the true collector of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor memorabilia, a rare, stunning porcelain perpetual souvenir Loving Cup, number 52/100 created by Paragon China Ltd to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Edward VIII accompanied with a full page original advertisement from The Pottery Gazette and Glass Trade Review, November 2, 1936 announcing its production at the height of the new King Edward’s abdication crisis over marrying the twice divorced American socialite Mrs. Wallis Simpson.
This was a scandal all over the world but kept secret from the British people by the collusion of Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin’s government and the powerful British newspapers until just days before Edward VIII’s abdication speech on December 10, 1936.
