Lee was inspired by indigenous people of Alaska & the North Pacific Coast. This splendid piece was skillfully crafted to recreate a majestic aspect of nature, the bear, by utilizing a delicate stone, soapstone. Soapstone is also known as Steatite, a very soft rock consisting primarily of talc, which makes the carving of this piece very impressive. Rub your hands across the smooth surface of this piece and feel a deeper connection to nature and the Northwest. See less
