The scene shows Christ with upraised right hand bearing the sign of benediction and open book to left. The icon is constructed of varnish and paint on wood panel, with brass oklad cover. The back is covered There is a newspaper article attached to the back with an article describing ways to authenticate a Russian icon. Someone has hand written on the article that they purchased the icon on the Trans Siberian Railroad from a young man who said it was his grandmother's art work. See less
